Our Toddler to Pre-K Program - 18 months to 7 years
We offer a stimulating, challenging, and developmentally appropriate curriculum for your children. Our pre-k classes are designed to help your child develop continuously and prepare them for each step ahead of them. There is a daily schedule that is in every classroom, and each schedule includes outdoor play, math, circle time, story time, language, art, and music.
We believe that our daily schedule and curriculum help to
add structure to your child's day and keeps them focused. Your child will have something to look forward to every day and each child benefits from our routine.
There is a strong emphasis on music and art at Foothills. Children will have the opportunity to be exposed to different types of music, dance, painting, coloring, and have the chance to create their own masterpieces along the way. Each classroom also has a cozy or quiet center, which
allows your child to relax away from the other children and read or just daydream.
Our pre-k curriculum also includes preparation for kindergarten entrance requirements. We try to stay on top of the county and city school systems' testing and we update our curriculum accordingly.
Our Curriculum
- A to Z upper case and lower case
- Names, Phone number, Address
- Self sufficiency within the restroom
About Our Classrooms and Programs
Foothills is dedicated
to preparing all our students for what they will experience when entering Kindergarten. It can be quite challenging for some students to make this transition. We are here to help. We cover everything from tying shoes, letter recognition, writing, math concepts, science, shapes, reward systems and hygiene in order to help them along their way.
Social and communication skills are also very important when it comes to a child's success in school. Let us help them develop these skills and help them pave the road to a bright future.
Our classrooms are set up in specific centers to help encourage playtime with other children and to develop social skills. Some of our play centers include:
- Home and kitchen
- Art
- Writing
- Math
- Music
- Dramatic play
- Blocks and building tools
- Reading and manipulative
Our focus is on the holistic development of your child. This includes the developmental standards surrounding the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language aspects of learning.
In addition to our regular curriculum we also incorporate Go Noodle and ABC Mouse into our days. ABC Mouse is a teacher led activity that helps reinforce certain aspects of our curriculum. Go Noodle is a web based physical fitness program that we use to keep our kids active. When we can not get outside due to weather this is an invaluable tool.
